Benfica midfielder Pizzi has ended the UEFA Europa League group stage at the top of the competition's scoring charts after coming off the bench to grab his sixth goal.
The 31-year-old entered the fray after 64 minutes away to Standard Liège and just three minutes later buried the penalty that earned Benfica a 2-2 draw. He also hit the crossbar late on as he moved ahead of Yusuf Yazıcı on the tiebreaker of assists – having served up two compared to the LOSC Lille forward's one.
Further back, Leon Bailey joined the group on five goals with a double for Leverkusen as they saw off Slavia Praha 4-0. Donyell Malen also grabbed his fifth strike with PSV Eindhoven's opener in a 4-0 defeat of Omonoia.
