Rasmus Højlund, Samu and Yunus Akgün scored on Matchday 6 to join Barnabás Varga at the top of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League goalscorer rankings.
Top scorers in the 2024/25 Europa League
Hungarian international Varga moved top of the table after striking twice in a 4-1 win against Swedish side Malmö on Matchday 5, but could not add to his tally on Matchday 6.
Manchester United's Rasmus Højlund scored twice in a 2-1 win at Plzeň to surge up the table, while Porto's Samu and Galatasaray's Yunus Akgün also added to their tallies in their final continental games of 2024.
Seven players are just behind the leading pack on four goals. Ayoub El Kaabi (top scorer in last season's UEFA Europa Conference League with winners Olympiacos) did not score on Matchday 6 but Iñaki Williams doubled his tally in Athletic Club's 2-0 win at Fenerbahçe, and there were also goals for Malmö's Erik Botheim, Lyon's Malick Fofana, Rangers' Hamza Igamane, Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush and Lazio's Pedro Rodríguez.
With four goals and three assists, 37-year-old Pedro has had a hand in seven goals, more than any other player this season. Four more players have had six goal involvements: Galatasaray's Dries Mertens (one goal, five assists), Lyon's Rayan Cherki (two goals, four assists), Marmoush (four goals, two assists) and Højlund (five goals, one assist).
