Manchester United 2-1 Rangers

The hosts took the lead just after half-time when Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland's attempt to clear a corner flew into his own net. Substitute Cyriel Dessers responded with a crisp strike on the turn in the closing stages, but United captain Bruno Fernandes crowned his 50th Europa League appearance with a side-footed volley to earn the Red Devils a fourth successive win in this competition.

Hoffenheim 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

James Maddison's classy finish and the first of two clinical Heung-Min Son strikes left Tottenham 2-0 up at half-time, but Hoffenheim hit the bar through Andrej Kramarić’s header and replied when Anton Stach stabbed in. Son fired in his second before David Mokwa headed Hoffenheim back into contention, yet Spurs hung on for a victory that guarantees them a place in the next phase of the competition.

Lazio 3-1 Real Sociedad

Mario Gila struck on five minutes, and Lazio pressed their advantage after Aihen Muñoz's 30th-minute dismissal, captain Mattia Zaccagni and Taty Castellanos making it 3-0 by the break. The Biancocelesti are now three points clear at the top of the standings, and are certain of a top-eight finish and direct passage to the round of 16.
