Hamstring pull halts Heskey

Emile Heskey is a doubt for England's friendly in Portugal and possibly Liverpool FC's next UEFA Cup date.

Weekend derby
The 26-year-old picked up the injury in the 2-1 FA Cup fourth-round defeat of Newcastle United FC. Heskey will definitely miss Saturday's derby against Everton FC at Anfield and is a doubt for England's friendly in Portugal on 18 February.

'Slight pull'
"Emile suffered a slight pull to his hamstring and he will miss the derby," said Houllier. "I think he will be out for about two to three weeks at least. We just have to see how he responds to treatment."

UEFA Cup date
If his recovery is slow, Heskey could miss Liverpool's UEFA Cup third-round tie against PFC Levski Sofia. The first leg will take place at Anfield on 26 February. Meanwhile, Czech forward Milan Baroš should return for the reserves this week after four months out with a broken ankle.
