The 23-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with an option for a further year and now begins his second spell in Europe. He started out with Rosario in 1997, before moving to Italy and AC Fiorentina in 2001.
Return home
However, after just five league starts for Fiorentina in 2001/02, González opted to return home, joining CA Boca Juniors on loan. He then rejoined Rosario at the start of the 2003/04 season. "I am very happy to be in Greece and I hope to win the league title with Panathinaikos," González said.
