German side SC Freiburg have confirmed the loan capture of Switzerland forward Admir Mehmedi from FC Dynamo Kyiv.
The 22-year-old moved to Dynamo in January 2012 after impressing at FC Zürich but has found first-team football hard to come by, making just 13 starts during an 18-month spell in Ukraine. Mehmedi now becomes the second Swiss international to join Freiburg's ranks after they secured the services of midfielder Gelson Fernandes.
"Everything impressed me here," he told Freiburg's website. "I have everything. I am close to my family and the entire atmosphere in the club is very familiar. That is exactly what I need for my development."
Freiburg have the option of making the transfer permanent next summer. The Bundesliga outfit start in the UEFA Europa League group stage after a fifth-placed league finish last term.
