Spanish sides agree Sá switch

The Villarreal CF defender Armando Sá is on the verge of signing for RCD Espanyol after the two Spanish clubs agreed terms for his transfer.

Pecking order
The 29-year-old Mozambique-born full-back played 20 times as Villarreal finished third in the Primera División last season but had reportedly been told by coach Manuel Luis Pellegrini that he would no longer be a regular following the signing of AZ Alkmaar's Jan Kromkamp.

European involvement
Despite leaving UEFA Champions League hopefuls Villarreal, Sá could still play European football as Espanyol will enter the UEFA Cup at the first-round stage. He previously represented Portuguese sides SL Benfica and SC Braga.
