Belgian coach Valére Billen is the man to lead Újpest FC after Bertalan Bicskei resigned following last night's 4-0 home defeat by FC Vaduz in the UEFA Cup first qualifying round.

Immediate resignation
Bicskei, the 62-year-old former Hungary and Malaysia coach, signed a one-year contract to replace Géza Mészöly just three weeks ago and hoped to bring stability to the club. However, he resigned following the reverse against the Liechtenstein side, who play in the Swiss second division, and the club's board immediately approved the decision. Billen, 53, will have a one-year contract.
