Gravesen returns to Everton

Former Danish international Thomas Gravesen has rejoined his old club Everton FC on a season's loan from Celtic FC, boosting the Merseyside club's midfield options.

Former Danish international Thomas Gravesen has agreed to rejoin Everton FC on a season-long loan from the Scottish champions Celtic FC.

Out of favour
The 31-year-old midfielder, who moved to Glasgow before the start of last season, has been unable to win a consistent place in Celtic's first team since his transfer from Real Madrid CF, making 22 league appearances last term and not featuring at all in the current campaign. Gravesen now returns to Merseyside where he spent four and a half seasons, making 141 league appearances and scoring eleven goals, prior to his January 2005 move to Madrid. After re-signing for the UEFA Cup contenders, Gravesen said: "I really look forward to coming back to Everton and to once again play at the top level."
