Fabio Caserta has continued his rise from relative obscurity after joining US Città di Palermo from Calcio Catania for an undisclosed fee.
Impressive campaign
The 28-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal with the UEFA Cup hopefuls having shone for newly-promoted Catania in Serie A last season, scoring six goals in 35 appearances as his side finished 13th. It was an impressive campaign from a player who had been plying his trade in Serie C2 with FC Igea Virtus Barcellona only three years previously. Palermo were today drawn against FK Mladá Boleslav in the UEFA Cup first round, with the first leg to take place in the Czech Republic on 20 September.
