FC Salzburg have signed Croatian international midfield player Nikola Pokrivač on a three-year contract.
No stranger
The 23-year-old joins the Austrian titleholders for an undisclosed sum from AS Monaco FC, following a spell of just over 18 months in the principality. Initially a regular for Les Rouge et Blanc, the former NK Varteks and NK Dinamo Zagreb player slipped down the pecking order in the spring and now links up with a Salzburg side looking to continue their recent rise with a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Having lost the play-off first leg 2-1 at home to Maccabi Haifa FC, they travel to Israel for Tuesday's game needing to win and score at least twice to progress. The creative Pokrivač is no stranger to Austria as he was a member of Croatia's UEFA EURO 2008™ squad.
