Valencia CF have finalised a deal to take Russian Premier-Liga player of the year Alejandro Domínguez to Spain from FC Rubin Kazan on a free transfer.
European success
The 28-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder completed a medical at Mestalla on Monday before penning a three-and-a-half year deal with Unai Emery's UEFA Europa League hopefuls. Domínguez scored 16 goals as Rubin won their second successive Russian league title as well as scoring twice in six UEFA Champions League appearances this term. Domínguez arrived in Russia with Rubin in March 2004 from CA River Plate. He also spent two seasons at FC Zenit St. Petersburg before returning to Rubin in March and helping them reclaim the Russian title. Valencia will look to seal their passage through to the UEFA Europa League last 32 when they visit Genoa CFC on Thursday.
