- This path consists of the three teams eliminated in the UEFA Champions League preliminary round (which concludes on 29 June) and the 16 teams eliminated in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round (ending 17/18 July).
Based on decisions taken by the UEFA Executive Committee, teams from Serbia and Kosovo, and Bosnia Herzegovina and Kosovo, could not be drawn together.
- One team was given a bye to the third qualifying round champions path by means of an additional draw prior to the champions path draw. That means 18 sides were involved.
Clubs' coefficients are now determined either by the sum of all points won in the previous five years OR by the association coefficient over the same period – whichever is the higher (under a new system introduced for 2018/19 onwards).
