Player of the Match: Cole Palmer highlights

Manchester City's Cole Palmer was named Player of the Match, presented by PlayStation®, after the UEFA Champions League holders beat Sevilla on penalties in Piraeus to claim the UEFA Super Cup for the first time.

With his side trailing to Youssef En-Nesyri's first-half header at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, the 21-year-old crept in at the far post three minutes past the hour to meet Rodri's deep left-wing cross with a perfectly-placed looping header over Yassine Bounou to level.

"He's a young, upcoming player who put in a good performance," said the UEFA technical observer panel. "He showed good dribbling skills and scored the equaliser for City to take the match to penalties."

City went on to triumph 5-4 on spot kicks to become the 25th team to lift the Super Cup, making Pep Guardiola the first coach to win the trophy with three clubs.
