Group 11: Top spot for young Hungary

Hungary and Northern Ireland will be in the next round of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship.

Hungary and Northern Ireland have become the final countries to book their places in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship second qualifying round.

Comfortable winners
Hungary won all three games in an entertaining first qualifying round mini-tournament played in Northern Ireland, who also impressed. Hungary began their campaign with a comfortable 5-0 win against Wales in Ballymena, with five different players getting on the scoresheet including a Wales own goal. Northern Ireland began their quest with a 4-0 win against Andorra.

Goals galore
The hosts followed that win with another 4-0 victory, this time against Wales, Chris Brunt and Neil Teggart both scoring for the second game in succession. Hungary were also 4-0 winners against Andorra, with Zoltán Jovánczai scoring for his second game in a row.

Close call
Going into the final day of games both the Hungarians and the Irish were assured of a place in the next round, but there was still the question of which side topped the group. Wales beat Andorra 2-0 to finish third while the Hungarians emerged narrow 2-1 winners against Northern Ireland to move into second-round Group 6 alongside Norway, Netherlands and Greece. Northern Ireland will be in Group 7 with Italy, Latvia and Georgia.
