Article body
Poland claimed second place in UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round Group 7 with a 2-0 win against Poland in Kula thanks to two goals in the second half.
Pride to play for
With mini-tournament hosts Serbia and Montenegro having won their first two games, thereby securing a place in this summer's finals in Northern Ireland, there was only pride at stake at the SPC Hajduk stadium. The first 45 minutes were somewhat underwhelming, but Poland made the breakthrough six minutes into the second half as Legia Warszawa forward Dariusz Zjawinski opened the scoring.
Pytlarz poise
The win was wrapped up seven minutes from time, midfield player Pawel Pytlarz giving Poland a two-goal cushion and ensuring a victory that movced Dariusz Dziekanowski's side on to six points, three fewer than the section winners. Albania, meanwhile, finished bottom of the table with a single point from their three matches.
