Greece have twice reached the U19 final, losing both times to Spain by the same 1-0 scoreline. The class of 2007, captained by Sokratis Papastathopoulos, boasted the tournament's golden player, Sotiris Ninis, and top scorer, Kostas Mitroglou. The current squad draws heavily on players from Olympiacos FC, whose U19 side got to the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League this season, and PAOK FC, U17 Super League winners in 2013. "The fact the tournament is in Greece in front of our fans adds to our motivation," coach Giannis Goumas said. "We've prepared well and are ready for this challenge. Our aim is to be competitive and make the most of our chances to reach the semi-finals."
