Olympique Lyonnais have announced that coach Patrice Lair will leave the club on 30 June.
The 52-year-old has guided the French team to seven major trophies, among them the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2011 and 2012, since succeeding Farid Benstiti in 2010. Lair's decision should not come as a surprise given he has previously said that four years at the helm of one side is his "kind of maximum".
A successor has not been named for the man who also steered Lyon to the final of last season's UEFA Women's Champions League, where they were beaten by VfL Wolfsburg. He could yet leave with more success on his CV, with Lyon – title winners for the past seven seasons – five points clear at the top of Feminine Division 1 with four games remaining and at home to holders Montpellier Hérault SC on Sunday in the French Cup quarter-finals.
