It is recommended to plan your journey in advance and make your way to the stadium at least two hours before kick-off to make the most of the pre-match atmosphere and to pass through security and ticket checks.

Use the S3 line from Basel SBB train station towards Aesch. Disembark at Basel Dreispitz and walk 10 minutes to the stadium.

Use tram line 14 towards Pratteln and disembark at Basel, St. Jakob.

By bus 🚌

From Basel Bad Bf train station, use the 36 bus service towards SchifflƤnde and get off at Basel, St. Jakob.

On foot 🚶

From the Fan Zone Barfüsserplatz / city centre, follow the signs along Freie Strasse / St. Alban-Graben / St. Alban-Vorstadt / Gellertstrasse. This route arrives at the north of the stadium.

By bike 🚲

From the Fan Zone Barfüsserplatz / city centre, follow the signs along Freie Strasse / St. Alban-Graben / St. Alban-Vorstadt / Gellertstrasse. This route arrives at the north of the stadium.

Bike parking is available north-east of the stadium, in Birchsstrasse.

By car šŸš—

Travelling by car is not recommended during Women’s EURO 2025. Please use public transport. There will be road closures and traffic restrictions in place between the city centre and the stadium.

ā›” There will be no public parking at the stadium. The car parks "St. Jakob" and "Shopping Centre St. Jakob-Park" are not available for the Women’s EURO matches.

āž”ļø Arriving from France: Exit the motorway at St-Louis, use the P+R at St-Louis train station and take the tram to the stadium. Tram travel is included with match ticket, trains in France are not included.

āž”ļø Arriving from Switzerland and Germany: Exit the motorway at Basel – Kleinhüningen and use the public multi-storey šŸ“ car park Horburg (800 spaces), then complete your journey by public transport.

By taxi / rideshare šŸš–

Travelling by rideshare is not recommended on matchday due to road closures and traffic restrictions around the city centre and stadium.

If you must travel by taxi, use the designated taxi drop-off / pick-up point at St. Jakobskirche (St. Jakobs-Strasse 375).

šŸ‘‹ After the match

Plan your return journey in advance of matchday. There is no extra time during the group stage. If scores are level at full time during the knock-out stage, the match will go to extra time and possibly penalties.

šŸš‰ Use the dedicated matchday shuttle trains from Basel – St. Jakob to get to Basel SBB train station.

šŸš‹ Use tramline 14 from Basel St. Jakob for locations within the city centre.

🚌 Bus service 36 will head towards Basel Bad Bf train station.

āš ļø For the quarter-final match and the final in Basel:

ā±ļø If the match goes into extra time or penalties, all designated extra SBB trains will wait and depart 40–60 minutes later than scheduled.

šŸ“± Check the SBB app or website for real-time updates on these extra trains.

āš ļø Important: Regular trains and standard connections won’t wait. SBB can only guarantee late-night return travel to destinations served by the extra trains.

As a Women’s EURO match ticket holder, you can travel from anywhere in Switzerland to the stadium and back on the day of your match – for free! The offer is valid for the entire Swiss public transport network.

Simply show your mobile match ticket to staff on public transport services if requested.

Free matchday travel is valid:

  • For Women’s EURO 2025 ticket holders only
  • For a return journey from any Swiss locality to the match venue (stadium) via the direct route
  • On all rail, trams, buses and boats in the Swiss public transport network. šŸ’” Ticket holders for matches in Basel can also enjoy free travel on:
    • Local services to the stadium (TNW)
    • Germany: Regio Verkehrsverbund Lƶrrach (RVL)
    • France: Distribus service and tramline 3 from St. Louis (excl. SNCF)
  • On the day of your match only (from 00:00 until the last scheduled stop that can be reached before 05:00 on the following day)
  • In second class only (upgrade to first class possible at regular upgrade fare, see the SBB website for more info on how to upgrade)

ā„¹ļø Travelling by train in Switzerland

Extra trains during the tournament 🄳

SBB will operate more than 400 extra trains during UEFA Women's EURO 2025 to make travelling home after the matches a breeze.

Late night services from the Host Cities to various locations across Switzerland will ensure you get home safely and comfortably after your match.

Check the online timetable (SBB app / website) for your connections and live departure information. Look out for the "EXT" icon to find the extra trains.

Buying tickets

You must purchase a valid ticket before boarding public transport on days when you are not attending a match.

Tickets can be purchased online, on the SBB app or at ticket machines, which are present at most train stations in Switzerland. Tickets for other public transport, such as trams and buses, can also be purchased at train stations, on the SBB app or from ticket machines at respective stops.
