🚆 Free public transport for Women’s EURO ticket holders

On matchday, match tickets will be valid for a second-class return journey on public transport from any Swiss locality to the match venue. Check below for more info ⬇️

🏟️ Travelling to Stadion Wankdorf

It is recommended to plan your journey in advance and make your way to the stadium at least two hours before kick-off to make the most of the pre-match atmosphere and to pass through security and ticket checks.

By S-Bahn / train 🚉

From Bern main train station: 

  • Use the S1, S2, S3, S4, S31 or S44 services to Bern Wankdorf (journey time: 10 minutes).
  • From here it’s just a 5-minute walk to the stadium.

If you’re coming from the Fan Zone, walk back to Bern main station (5 minutes) and follow the directions above.

Extra train services will operate from Zurich HB and Lausanne directly to Bern Wankdorf.

On foot 🚶

The routes to Stadion Wankdorf from the city centre are well signposted and at a leisurely pace the walk will take 40 minutes.

From the Fan Zone Bundesplatz, follow the directions along Waisenhausplatz and, Kornhausplatz via Breitenrainplatz .

From Bern station, follow the signs via Bollwerk and Nordring, and then continue via Rodtmattstrasse .

By bus 🚍

From Bern train station:

  • Take bus line 20, departing from stop E
  • Get off at stop Wyler
  • 3-minute walk to the stadium
  • Total journey time: 15-20 minutes

Alternatively:

  • Take bus line 9A (tram replacement service), departing from stop G at Bern main station
  • Get off at stop Guisanplatz Expo
  • 5-minute walk to the stadium
  • Total journey time: 15-20 minutes
By bike 🚲

If you live in the area, hop on your bike and choose a sustainable and practical journey to the stadium.

Follow the “Women’s EURO” signs where you will find an additional 780 bike parking spaces around Stadion Wankdorf.

By car 🚗❌

Travelling by car is not recommended during Women’s EURO 2025. Please use public transport. There will be road closures and traffic restrictions in place between the city centre and the stadium.

Only a very limited number of parking spaces will be available at the stadium. Please follow the signs from the Bern Wankdorf motorway exit.

⚠️ Kornhausbrücke is closed due to construction work and will only be accessible to pedestrians.

By taxi / rideshare 🚖

Travelling by taxi or rideshare is not recommended on matchday due to road closures and traffic restrictions around the city centre and stadium.

If you must travel by taxi or rideshare, ask the driver to drop you off at Guisanplatz.

👋 After the match

Volunteers will be around to guide you to the closest public transport hubs.

🚄 S-Bahn services will operate from Bern Wankdorf station.

🚆 Extra train services will run from Bern Wankdorf to Olten, Zurich HB, Winterthur, Lausanne and Geneva.

🚌 Buses will run from the Guisanplatz Expo and Wyler stops.

⚠️ For the quarter-final match in Bern (18 July)

⏱️ If the match goes into extra time or penalties, all designated extra SBB trains will wait and depart 40–60 minutes later than scheduled.

⚠️ Important: Regular trains and standard connections won’t wait. SBB can only guarantee late-night return travel to destinations served by the extra trains.

🚉 Free matchday travel

As a Women’s EURO match ticket holder, you can travel from anywhere in Switzerland to the stadium and back on the day of your match – for free! The offer is valid for the entire Swiss public transport network.

Simply show your mobile match ticket to staff on public transport services if requested.

Free matchday travel is valid:

  • For Women’s EURO 2025 ticket holders only
  • For a return journey from any Swiss locality to the match venue (stadium) via the direct route
  • On all rail, trams, buses and boats in the Swiss public transport network
  • On the day of your match only (from 00:00 until the last scheduled stop that can be reached before 05:00 on the following day)
  • In second class only (upgrade to first class possible at regular upgrade fare, see the SBB website for more info on how to upgrade)or Women’s EURO 2025 ticket holders only

Extra trains during the tournament 🥳

SBB will operate more than 400 extra trains during UEFA Women's EURO 2025 to make travelling home after the matches a breeze.

Late night services from the Host Cities to various locations across Switzerland will ensure you get home safely and comfortably after your match.

Check the online timetable (SBB app / website) for your connections and live departure information. Look out for the "EXT" icon to find the extra trains.

Buying tickets

You must purchase a valid ticket before boarding public transport on days when you are not attending a match.

Tickets can be purchased online, on the SBB app or at ticket machines, which are present at most train stations in Switzerland. Tickets for other public transport, such as trams and buses, can also be purchased at train stations, on the SBB app or from ticket machines at respective stops.
