Creating an unforgettable experience for everybody involved is one of our main goals for UEFA Women's EURO 2025.

That's why a dedicated Fan Forum for supporter representatives from all 16 participating nations was staged this week.

The Fan Forum ensures supporters are at the centre of the UEFA planning process for a summertime celebration of football, giving them the opportunity to help create lasting memories at the tournament and a voice in shaping the future of the game.

The event follows a successful edition held ahead of UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany last year. Tournament organisers, host city representatives, national associations, Football Supporters Europe (FSE), supporters' groups and national team Fan Embassies were brought together with one common goal – to ensure an exciting, safe and memorable experience for fans throughout Women's EURO 2025.

"We have said from the very beginning that Women’s EURO 2025 will be inclusive, family friendly and safe. Therefore, having pre-tournament dialogue with the fans is essential for us, as this tournament is a celebration with and for the fans in a welcoming environment."

Doris Keller, UEFA Women's EURO 2025 tournament director

This first Women's EURO Fan Forum detailed the range of services and support available to tournament visitors this July, addressing all aspects of their experience in Switzerland, from matchday travel to the atmosphere and experiences inside the eight venues.

This helps supporters' groups plan their activities, such as fan walks to stadiums, while learning more about the host cities, fan zones and safety, security and sustainability issues.

It’s been invaluable for Fans’ Embassies to hear directly from and speak to those whose decisions will impact supporters. Establishing these connections now will play a key role in making the experience smoother for fans following their teams in Switzerland.

More about UEFA and supporter relations

The Fan Forum is one of UEFA's many ongoing initiatives to improve the spectator and fan experience at European football matches. Last year, we formalised a Memorandum of Understanding with Football Supporters Europe (FSE), the body representing the interests of football fans at the European level.

Since the 2012/13 season, teams competing in UEFA men's club competitions have required a dedicated supporter liaison officer (SLO), who act as a crucial bridge between fans and the club and national association or governing body, facilitating dialogue and building trust. Their impact can extend beyond relations, influencing decision-making and ultimately enhancing the experience of all involved in the game.

Since 2020, the UEFA Academy also offers a dedicated SLO education programme to develop the knowledge, skills and tools needed to thrive in the position.
