The UEFA Women's Europa Cup is set to launch with its inaugural season in 2025/26, adding a second women's club competition to the European football landscape in addition to the UEFA Women's Champions League.
The tournament, in which 43 clubs will compete, will be played entirely in a two-legged knockout format, including the final. In all, 12 will teams enter the Women's Europa Cup directly, with 31 others transferring from Women's Champions League qualifying.

UEFA Women's Europa Cup entries
Eleven teams entered directly into the new Women's Europa Cup in the first qualifying round. They were joined by the 11 third-place finishers in the Women's Champions League second qualifying round mini-tournaments.
One team (Slovácko) entered the Women's Europa Cup directly in the second qualifying round, as did the 11 teams finishing second in the Women's Champions League second qualifying round mini-tournaments. They were joined by the nine clubs eliminated in the Women's Champions League third qualifying round and the 11 Europa Cup first qualifying round winners.

How does the new UEFA Women's Europa Cup work?
In 2025/26, 12 teams (the third-placed teams in the domestic leagues from the associations ranked 8 to 13 and the runners-up of the associations ranked 18 to 24*) will enter the competition directly, while a feeding system from the Women's Champions League will mean the new Women's Europa Cup offers a second chance to the nine clubs eliminated in the third qualifying round as well as the runners-up and third-placed teams from the 11 second qualifying round tournaments.
The Women's Europa Cup will be a straight knockout tournament, played in parallel to the Women's Champions League. It will feature a total of six rounds – the first and second qualifying rounds, the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final – all of which will be played over two legs (home and away).
The winners will automatically qualify for the third qualifying round of the champions path of the next season's Women's Champions League, with one round to negotiate for a place in the league phase.
*Due to the suspension of all Russian national teams and clubs from UEFA competitions until further notice, as decided by the UEFA Executive Committee on 28 February 2022, no Russian clubs are participating in the current 2025/26 UEFA club competitions season.
