Toulouse leave it late to advance

Toulouse FC reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Cup at the expense of Arsenal FC.

Toulouse FC advanced to the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Cup after a 2-1 extra-time defeat of Arsenal FC saw them progress 3-2 on aggregate from an evenly-contested quarter-final tie.

Dramatic five minutes
After earning a 1-1 draw in the first-leg in London, Toulouse could only manage another 1-1 draw in normal time in today's return leg. Toulouse opened the scoring through Melanie Briche after 85 minutes but an Ellen Mags goal in the last minute of normal time earned the visitors the chance of securing a famous victory in extra time.

Extra-time victory
However, it was not to be with Toulouse taking full advantage of a tiring Arsenal side who had Leanne Champ sent off earlier in the game. Marie Ange Kramo scored the decisive goal with just six minutes of the second period of extra time remaining.

German opposition
Toulouse will now do battle with 1. FFC Frankfurt for a place in the final after the formidable German side accounted for Odense BK 5-1 on aggregate. The semi-final first legs will be played between 12 and 15 April, with the return matches taking place between 27 and 29 of the same month.
