The brand design for the 2017 UEFA Europa League final in Stockholm was officially launched in Monaco today during the group stage draw.

The brand identity reflects the unique characteristics of Stockholm and the thrill of the competition. The centrepiece of the design is the UEFA Europa League trophy, portrayed as being lifted by the players and fans who will gather to celebrate the final on 24 May. The powerful orange in the accompanying energy wave is subtly complemented by a blue colour featured in the word mark – and inspired by Stockholm's waterfronts.

Stockholm is a stunning capital built on 14 islands, and the final design incorporates the city hall with its remarkable tower surrounded by waterfronts. Thus the brand identity unifies the iconic landmark and the unique characteristics of Stockholm with the world of football.

To herald what will be a special experience for all fans, the design will be displayed throughout the city and in and around the Friends Arena. It will be the first final to be staged at the venue in Stockholm's neighbouring community of Solna.

The design has been developed in collaboration with UEFA's marketing partner TEAM Marketing in Lucerne and the London-based creative branding agency Ingredient.
