Five more through to main round

EID Futsal, Paris Sporting Club, Vegakameratene, FC Grand Pro Varna and KMF Leotar Trebinje are through to the UEFA Futsal Cup main round after six preliminary round groups concluded.

The UEFA Futsal Cup main round is taking shape after five of the seven preliminary rounds came to a conclusion on Saturday.

Lidselmash Lida had already secured top spot in Group B but maintained their perfect record courtesy of a 5-2 win against Edro Vlorë. København Futsal ended three points adrift in second following an impressive 7-2 success against top speeds Helvécia Futsal London.

1. FC Allstars Wiener Neustadt started the day atop Group C but ended it in second after going down 5-2 against section winners EID Futsal. Futsal Minerva were also well in contention going into the final set of games but finished bottom of the group having suffered a 6-5 reverse against TUFAD Ankara S..

There were goals galore in Group D, meanwhile, Paris Sporting Club drawing 4-4 with Futsal Topsport Antwerpen to finish top of the section and reach the main round. Antwerpen were without captain Ahmed Sababti but gave as good as they got against Sporting, who were left grateful for the exploits of Djamel Haroun in goal. The Belgians finished third in Group D, behind Hamburg Panthers, following their 5-5 draw with FC Santos.

Vegakameratene finished top of the pile in Group E, defeating Shahumyan 4-1 to end two points ahead of Maccabi Nahalat Itzhak. The Israeli side concluded on a high of their own, however, enjoying a 7-4 success against FC Encamp.

FC Grand Pro Varna went through from Group F after playing out a goalless draw with FS Ilves Tampere, who finished second. Ibra Göteborg ended up in third after concluding their campaign with an emphatic 8-0 triumph over Cardiff City FC, who propped up the table without a point.

On Friday, meanwhile, KMF Leotar Trebinje secured their progress from the three-club Group A thanks to a 4-1 win against Lexmax Chisinau of Moldova. In Group G, KF Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje won 7-2 at Bekentas Vilnius to move into pole position going into Sunday's final round of fixtures.

The draw for the main round has already been made.
