First win
In the first match in Liege on Saturday, Belgium secured a 3-2 victory. Kristjan Cujec gave Slovenia a second-minute lead but Karim Chaibai swiftly equalised before Zico and Ahmed Sabadi put the home side 3-1 up at the break. Igor Osredkar claimed a last-minute consolation.
Dramatic finish
The following day in Hasselt, it was 2-1 to Belgium. Chaibai broke the deadlock 26 seconds before the break but was sent off with four minutes left and Uroš Kroflic equalised. However, Zico converted a double penalty with 20 seconds remaining for a Belgium side without the injured Lúcio Rosa. Belgium, in Group B in January's finals with Italy and Ukraine, have two more Hasselt friendlies planned with Serbia on 28 December and Russia the following day. Slovenia, whose Group C opponents in Hungary will be Russia and Serbia, take on Iran next month and Romania in January.
