Futsal EURO play-off: Serbia vs Belarus

Serbia and Belarus will play off over two legs in November for the last finals spot.

Serbia and Belarus will play off over two legs between 14 and 17 November for the last place at UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 in the Netherlands.

While the eight group winners and six best runners-up from the qualifying group stage automatically earned their spots in the finals from 19 January to 6 February, the other two teams that finished second now take each other on for the right to join them.

Serbia, who had the eighth-best record, will be at home in the first leg as decided by a draw made when the qualifying groups were set. The finals draw is made ahead of the play-off on 18 October.

  • In 2010 they lost their debut finals game 9-1 to Spain – but then held eventual runners-up Portugal 5-5 with a last-gasp equaliser.

  • Serbia showed their play-off prowess last December with a 5-5 draw in Finland to take them to the FIFA Futsal World Cup, having won 1-0 at home.
  • As hosts in 2016, all five of their games sold out the 11,161-capacity Arena Belgrade, with a total competition attendance of 113,820.
