Play-off contenders

While the ten main round group winners (including Slovenia) progressed directly to the finals to join Latvia and Lithuania from 21 January to 7 February 2026, the eight play-off teams (the best runners-up) were drawn into four ties, played between 15 and 24 September.

The play-off ties were determined through an open draw from one pot containing balls corresponding to each of the eight teams. The first ball drawn designated the home team for the first leg of the first tie, and the second ball drawn completed that tie. The same procedure was followed for the remaining three ties. In each tie, the team drawn first will play the first leg at home.
