Giggs case on disciplinary agenda

Giggs case
The UEFA disciplinary body will examine a case involving Wales and Manchester United FC winger Ryan Giggs, who will answer a charge of improper conduct for allegedly elbowing a Russian opponent in last month's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying play-off first leg in Moscow.

Under-21 play-off
In addition, the Control and Disciplinary Body will deal with incidents which took place at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-off second leg between France and Portugal in Clermont-Ferrand on 18 November.

Cissé dismissal
UEFA has been investigating incidents which took place on the bench and in the dressing rooms at the game, which Portugal won 4-1 on penalties, following a 3-3 aggregate draw over two legs, to qualify for next May's final round. France's AJ Auxerre striker Djibril Cissé was sent off during the match, and his case will also be heard.

Istanbul incidents
In another case involving the European Under-21 Championship, the UEFA body will study alleged incidents at the play-off second leg between Turkey and Germany in Istanbul on 18 November. The hearing will focus on the alleged throwing of missiles by spectators towards the match officials at the end of the match. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Germany qualifying for the final round on a 2-1 aggregate scoreline.
