FK Viktoria Zizkov beat bottom of the table SFC Opava 2-0 today in the 1. liga to stay in touch with Czech first division leaders FC Slovan Liberec.
Penalty-kick
Zizkov took the lead in third minute after Ludek Stracený was brought down in the area, allowing captain Ales Pikl to score from the spot and Jirí Sabou sealed the points for the home team in 56th minute with close-range strike following Michal Smarda's free-kick. Goalkeeper Vít Baránek could only parry the ball into the path of Sabou, who was left with the simple task of making it 2-0.
Needing a miracle
Zizkov remain in third place in the table on 52 points, just two points behind leaders Slovan. Opava though remain rooted to the foot of the table having only collected nine points from the 24 games that they have played this season leaving them a massive 14 points from safety.
