The Malta Football Association's protest board agreed that Hamrun player Michael Degiorgio’s last-minute signing-on document did not comply with official regulations. The altered result, and the awarding of three points, lifts Marsa into sixth place in the table, just two points behind Hamrun.
Sultana scored
In the sides' encounter on 28 November, Stefan Sultana scored the only goal of the game 12 minutes from time to win it for Hamrun. It was the first time the local rivals had faced each other in 17 years with both sides having ambitions to qualify for the champions pool at the end of the season.
