Article body
Olympique de Marseille's interim coach Albert Emon has announced he will stay in charge of the club until the end of next season.
Announcement on Friday
"I received confirmation that I would keep the job until June 2003 from [club president] Pierre Louis-Dreyfus and [sports director] Bernard Tapie," Emon said on the French first division club's website on Friday.
Ivic health problems
The 48-year-old Emon, who was previously assistant coach, replaced Tomislav Ivic on an interim basis after the 68-year-old Croatian was taken to hospital with breathing problems in December.
Emon's CV
Emon won the French league title with Marseille in 1972 as a player and coached OGC Nice in the first division in the mid-nineties. Marseille are currently 12th in the French first division, but, in a tight bottom half of the table, they are only six points off the relegation zone.
