Slobodan Pavkovic resigns as coach of Yugoslav club FK Vojvodina due to a "negative atmosphere".

Slobodan Pavkovic has resigned as coach of Yugoslavian side FK Vojvodina due to what he described as a "negative atmosphere" at the club.

Two-game losing run
Vojvodina have lost both of their matches since the end of the 1st Liga winter break, but still lie fifth in the table. But defeat at FK Zeta was the final straw for Pavkovic, who was appointed at the start of the 2001/02 season.

"Playing for Vojvodina is a condemnation"
"I am leaving because of the negative atmosphere in the club," Pavkovic said. "I cannot work for a club where most players do not have no basic sports culture and some younger players believe playing for Vojvodina is a condemnation. Also some players have been sold in the winter break and no one asked my opinion."

No hurry to find replacement
Club president Miodrag Kostic said: "Pavkovic reacted emotionally although the club were 100 per cent behind him despite the defeats. We will not hurry into finding his replacement."
