'Different challenge'
The 28-year-old centre back, capped 68 times by his country, signed a two-year deal with the English Premiership side, having enjoyed a highly successful spell with current Tunisian champions, Espérance Sportive de Tunis. "I have had an excellent career with Espérance and left on a high, but I now feel ready to experience a different challenge," he told Bolton's website.
Injury blow for Rennes
Stade Rennais FC suffered a setback to their preparations for the new season when experienced midfield player Cédric Barbosa was sidelined for six months following a serious knee injury in a warm up game in Brittany. "I heard a big crack and felt great pain," said 28-year-old Barbosa. "I will undergo surgery in Strasbourg shortly, and will be unavailable for six months."
