Two goals in the last ten minutes earned Newcastle United FC a 2-2 draw at Liverpool FC.

Two goals in the last ten minutes from Newcastle United FC denied Liverpool FC the three points as the sides drew 2-2 in a pulsating English Premiership encounter at Anfield tonight .

Close call
Liverpool were hoping to go top of the table and nearly took the lead after just 13 minutes against their fellow UEFA Champions League contenders when Newcastle defender Nikos Dabizas almost bundled a Danny Murphy cross into his own net.

Hamann and Owen goals
On 53 minutes a left-footed finish by Dietmar Hamann against his old club finally gave Liverpool a deserved lead. The game looked over when Dabizas fouled Sami Hyypiä from a Steven Gerrard corner and Michael Owen dispatched the spot kick to make it 2-0 with just 18 minutes remaining.

Bellamy and Robert swing game
However, the introduction of Newcastle's Craig Bellamy and Laurent Robert from the substitutes' bench reinvigorated the visitors. With ten minutes remaining Bellamy fed Gary Speed who blasted the ball past Jerzy Dudek to give his side hope.

Bullet header
Then, with just two minutes of normal time remaining, Robert swung in a corner and Alan Shearer's bullet header beat Dudek to steal a share of the spoils for Bobby Robson's side. Shearer then nearly gave his side all three points when he poked a Robert pass goalwards, only for Dudek to clear.

Liverpool third
Liverpool go on to eight points and stay third, while Newcastle move up into 13th place.
