Celtic FC were knocked out of the Scottish Cup after a 1-0 defeat at Inverness Caledonian Thistle Fc.

Celtic FC were surprisingly knocked out of the Scottish Cup at the quarter-final stage when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.

Memorable goal
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill made eight changes from the side which won 2-0 at Liverpool FC on Thursday to reach the UEFA Cup semi-finals, and the home side took full advantage with Dennis Wyness's goal on the stroke of half-time giving the first division side a surprise triumph.

Inverness hold on
A lively and committed Inverness side defended resolutely in the second period in the face of sustained Celtic pressure, with Henrik Larsson twice and John Hartson both going close, but the home side held on for a memorable victory.

Rangers held
Holders Rangers FC will need a replay to reach the least four after an equaliser from Claudio Caniggia gave them a 1-1 draw at Dunfermline Athletic FC, who had taken the lead after 23 minutes through David Grondin. Rangers captain Barry Ferguson was sent-off in the final minute and, along with defender Craig Moore, who picked up his second yellow card of the tournament, will miss the replay on 9 April.

Dundee deny Falkirk
A replay will also be required to separate Dundee FC and Falkirk FC after Saturday's 1-1 draw. Falkirk player-coach Owen Coyle gave the lower division side the lead after 57 minutes, but Nacho Novo's goal nine minutes later earned Dundee a replay.

Resounding victory
Motherwell FC comfortably reached the last four with a resounding 4-0 win at second division Stranraer FC. Fraser Wright's own goal gave Motherwell an early lead, before second-half strikes from James McFadden, Derek Adams and Dirk Lehmann sealed the top-flight team’s win.

Semi-final draw
Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC v Dundee FC/Falkirk FC
Rangers FC/Dunfermline Athletic FC v Motherwell FC
