Article body
Christian Poulsen's penalty miss seven minutes from time ensured Superligaen leaders Brøndby IF took all three points from their top of the table clash with FC København on Sunday.
Penalty miss
Brøndby had taken the lead after only six minutes when Ruben Bagger scored at the second attempt, after connecting with Rafal Niznik's sweeping cross from the right. The game remained deadlocked until the 83rd-minute when København earned the chance for an equaliser, but Poulsen failed to convert his spot-kick. The league leaders now hold a ten-point advantage at the top of the table.
AB beaten
Akademisk Boldklub failed to capitalise on their Copenahgen rivals' misfortune as they fell 2-1 to Viborg FF. Abdul Sule headed in Steen Träger's cross to put AB in front after 26 minutes but second-half goals from Saso Petrovski and Thomas Frandsen gave the visitors the points.
Misery for Lyngby
AGF Århus piled the misery on cash-strapped Lyngby FC as they beat them 7-0. Søren Andersen scored twice and Henrik Bøgebjerg added another to put Århus 3-0 up before the break. Andersen completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, while John Jensen, Niels Bo Daugaard and Nocko Jokovic completed the rout. With the bottom two sides winning Lyngby are now propping up the table.
Silkeborg win away
Silkeborg IF recorded a remarkable 4-0 away win over Vejle BK, only their fourth victory of the season, and moved off the bottom of the table. Bo Nielsen and Mikkel Lindorff put Silkeborg in front in the first half and Ulrik Pedersen and Brian Pedersen made sure of the points after the break.
Midtjylland held
Elsewhere FC Midtjylland drew 1-1 with Esbjerg fB after Michael Nielsen scored from a narrow angle to level up Jens Jessen first-half penalty.
