Enosis Neon Paralimni FC beat AEK Larnaca FC 2-0 in the first leg of their Cypriot Cup tie.

Kostas Elias scored both goals as Enosis Neon Paralimni FC beat AEK Larnaca FC 2-0 in the first leg of their Cypriot Cup second-round encounter.

Elias sent off
Elias opened the scoring in the seventh minute, picking himself up after being felled by AEK defender Klimis Alexandrou to slot home a penalty. He completed the scoring eleven minutes later after beating AEK goalkeeper Savvas Konstantinou to Demos Goumenos's lofted pass. Enosis's chances of reaching the third round were boosted in injury time when Slovakian keeper Pavel Kamesch saved Petar Puaca's penalty kick. AEK had been reduced to ten men in the 77th minute when Kokos Elias received his second yellow card.

Nightmare debut
Aleksandar Kocic endured a nightmare debut in goal for Ethnikos Achnas FC as his error allowed Doxa Katokopia FC striker Nicolas Dikoume to level the scores at 2-2 in the 53rd minute. Achnas took the lead in the fourth minute through Dragoslav Music but Doxa were quickly back on level terms after Elias Kapsalis got in behind the Achnas defence. Alexis Alexandrou sent Achnas in 2-1 ahead at the break but Kocic's error gave Doxa hope for the return leg.

Serious injury
Olympiakos Nicosia FC's Yugoslavian striker Sava Radosavljev could miss the rest of the season after being carried off on a stretcher 26 minutes into his side's 1-1 home draw with Anorthosis Famagusta FC. Slovakian striker Josef Kozlej opened the scoring for Olympiakos two minutes after the break but Anorthosis never gave up and equalised through Wojciech Kowalczyk following an excellent team move.

Holders win
Cup holders Apollon Limassol FC had veteran midfield player Milenko Spoljaric to thank for their slender 1-0 win over AEP Paphos FC at the Tsirion Athletic Centre in Limassol. He got on the end of Georgos Georgiou's curling corner and headed the ball past goalkeeper Alexandros Michael in the 75th minute. Division B leaders Nea Salamis FC had an easy afternoon dismantling title rivals Dighenis Morphou FC 5-0, while Ethnikos Ashias FC also accounted for second division opposition, beating AEZ Zakakiou FC 2-0.
