Turkey round-up: Glory for Galatasaray

Galatasaray SK won their 15th 1. Lig title today with a comfortable 2-0 win at Kocaelispor.

Hasan Sas headed the opening goal and despite Arif Erdem missing a 71st-minute penalty, Horia Niculescu doubled Galatasaray's advantage in injury time. Galatasaray are now three points ahead of second-placed Fenerbahçe SK going into the final weekend and have secured the championship by virtue of their better head-to-head record against their Istanbul rivals.

Revivo in vain
Fenerbahçe won 1-0 at Bursaspor thanks to Haim Revivo's 50th-minute header from an Ali Günes cross, but the victory was not enough to wrestle the title from Galatasaray.
