Czech Republic round-up: Zizkov hold on for vital win

FK Viktoria Zizkov remain in the hunt for the 1. liga title after beating FK Drnovice 2-1 today

Miroslav Sebesta headed Zizkov in front in the third minute and Tomás Oravec added a second after a mix-up in the home defence. Edvard Lasota pulled one back for Drnovice and Zivkov were left hanging on after Maros Klimpl was dismissed on 72 minutes after receiving two yellow cards in the space of 60 seconds. Zizkov are now only three points behind FC Slovan Liberec with two rounds remaining, while Drnovice drop into the relegation zone.

FK Chmel Blšany snatched three vital points against CU Bohemians Praha. David Sourada, in his 100th Czech top-flight appearance, scored the winner after the interval and the visitors survived the sending-off of Jan Vorel to move two points clear of Drnovice.

First away win
The bottom club, SFC Opava, earned only their fourth win of the season and their first away from home, against FC Baník Ostrava, who had their goalkeeper Kamil Susko sent off in the fifth minute for handling the ball outside the area. Despite David Gill´s own goal, Opava made the most of their extra man to win 2-1.

Reiter scores
SK Sigma Olomouc erased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win at FK Jablonec 97. Lubomir Reiter's goal and the excellence of goalkeeper Martin Vaniak won them all three points. SK Hradec Králové also secured survival, with a 2-1 victory over 1. FC Synot.

Slavia held
SK Slavia Praha wasted a chance to move into fourth spot, which brings a guaranteed place in Europe next season, as they fought out a goalless draw with FC Príbram. Playing without the suspended Richard Dostálek and Adam Petrous, Slavia enjoyed the greater possession but had fewer chances and lost Tomás Kuchar to a late red card.
