Jönsson hat-trick
Swedish winger Mattias Jönsson scored a second-half hat-trick after Ruben Bagger had given Brøndby a 1-0 lead in the opening 45 minutes. Peter Madsen scored the other.
Todi scores two
Second-placed FC København kept pace with a 3-1 win at Esbjerg fB thanks to a goal from Sibusiso Zuma and a Todi Jónsson double. Esbjerg, beaten by the capital side in the DONG Cup semi-final, pulled a goal back through Hans Henrik Andreasen in the 72nd minute, but that was as close as the home side got.
Aalborg under threat
Aalborg BK's third-place finish is under threat after they lost 1-0 against FC Midtjylland, their fourth home defeat in a row. Søren Skriver scored the only goal of the game for Midtjyland after 51 minutes.
Odense held
Elsewhere, Odense BK drew 1-1 at relegation-threatened Vejle BK, AGF Åarhus beat Viborg FF 4-3 and Lyngby FC went down 5-2 to Silkeborg IF.
