Cypriot side Enosis Neon Paralimni FC have signed Bulgarian international Georgi Donkov.

Cypriot side Enosis Neon Paralimni FC have signed Bulgarian international striker Georgi Donkov from Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax FC.

Bundesliga experience
Donkov will become the fifth new arrival at the Division A club ahead of the new season. The Bulgarian attacker has had an extensive career in the German 1. Bundesliga with VfL Bochum and 1. FC Köln, where he spent four seasons and scored ten league goals in 87 games.

Frustrating spell
Having begun his professional career with PFC CSKA Sofia, PFC Botev Plovdiv and PFC Levski Sofia in his native Bulgaria, Donkov joined Neuchâtel last season but was unable to command a first team place, making just six appearances in what proved to be a frustrating spell in Switzerland.

Fifth foreigner
After the number of foreigners allowed in a Cypriot team increased from three to five for the forthcoming season, Donkov becomes the fifth foreigner to arrive to the eastern town of Paralimni. Slovakian keeper Pavel Kamesch, Georgos Peklis, Henrik Baluzinski and Yugoslavian striker Goran Petkovski have already joined up with their new team-mates.
