FC Universitatea Craiova have appointed Dumitru Marcu as their new coach on a day when a host of positions within the club's hierarchy changed following a board meeting.
Former international
The 52-year-old Marcu, a seasoned professional in his day with Romania, FC Steaua Bucuresti, Universitatea as well as FC Mecanica Fina Bucuresti and FC Gloria Buzau in the second division, replaces Emil Sandoi after he became the technical director at the Ion Oblemenco stadium.
New titles
Meanwhile, Universitatea's owner, Dinel Staicu, was also named as the club's executive president. Adrian Mititelu is now the vice-president and Corneliu Stroe, a previous Universitatea president, becomes the general manager. Stroe is charged with improving the club's image.
