Article body
FK Partizan, who defeated Sporting Clube de Portugal in the UEFA Cup last week, stayed top of the Yugoslav first division on Sunday despite losing 2-0 to second-placed FK Zeleznik.
Partizan blunder
Dalibor Pesterac took advantage of a mistake in the Partizan defence to strike the first on 30 minutes and Jovan Markovski buried a volley in added time to seal the points as the league leaders appeared to leave their form in Lisbon.
Maiden triumph
First-half strikes from Sreten Stanic and Borislav Stevanovic earned FK Rad a 2-0 home victory over FK Javor – their first win of the season – while FK Hajduk saw off FK Zeta 2-1 thanks to an 83rd-minute winner from Srdjan Djurdjevic.
Simic decider
Aleksandar Simic secured a late triumph for OFK Beograd when he popped up in the last minute to slam in a winner against FK Radnicki Nis. It was a similar story for Srdjan Radonjic, who pounced on 78 minutes to hand FK Sutjeska the points against FK Vojvodina.
Six goal thriller
FK Cukaricki, meanwhile, lost 1-0 to FK Rudar, going down to Vojislav Pekovic’s 25th-minute goal, while FK Radnicki Obrenovac and FK Obilic shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller.
Crvena off the mark
FK Crvena Zvezda, who played out a scoreless draw with AC Chievo Verona in the UEFA Cup last week, finally clinched their first win of the season after coming from behind to defeat FK Mogren 4-1, opening the scoring through Nemanja Vidic and adding further strikes through Mihajlo Pijanovic, Dejan Milovanovic and Dragan Mrdja. Lastly, FK Sartid ran out 3-0 winners over FK Zemun.
