Norway round-up: Rosenborg seal another title

Rosenborg BK have been crowned Norwegian champions for the eleventh season in a row - as their players watched television.

Molde concede title
The Trondheim side had given themselves hope of clinching the title on Saturday evening with a 2-2 draw at Sogndal, and the team celebrated with pizzas and lemonade in their club house as remaining concenders Molde FK lost 4-2 at Stabæk IF.

Ten for Eggen
Coach Nils Arne Eggen, who retires this year after leading Rosenborg to ten of those championships, saw Steinar Enerly score a penalty and a free-kick against Sogndal IL, only for the home team to level near the end through a spot-kick of their own in snowy conditions.

'It is not easy'
But Molde were unable to reduce the four-point lead Rosenborg held after that draw, ensuring Eggen's final honour. "We are obviously very pleased, but right now our focus is on the [UEFA] Champions League game at [AFC] Ajax on Tuesday," he said."It is getting tighter at the top all the time, and it is not easy winning  the Tippeligaen. But we have been the most consistent side."

Safety for pair
Vålerenga Fotball and FK Bodø/Glimt both secured their top-flight places by winning against IK Start and Moss FK respectively. Long-relegated Start lost 4-0 as Vålerenga striker Petter Belsvik scored his 158th top-flight goal to match Rosenborg legend Odd Iversen's mark, and Moss were beaten 2-0 to remain in grave danger of relegation.

Moss hope
SK Brann can still be caught by Moss after they lost a 1-0 lead in a 2-1 home defeat by Lillestrøm SK, two goals in quick succession from German striker Uwe Rösler giving the visitors victory. Moss will still need to win at home to Stabæk next Sunday, and hope Rosenborg do not let their championship celebrations prevent them beating Brann in Trondheim.

Derby draw
Viking FK and Bryne FK drew 1-1 in the remaining premier division match. The second half was delayed when the referee began play, only to halt it after ten second when he noticed  Bryne goalkeeper Roger Eskeland was still in the dressing room. Odds BK meet long-time title-challengers SFK Lyn on Monday.

Promotion for Tromsø
Tromsø IL are back in the top flight after a season's absence with a 2-1 first division victory on Saturday at home to Aalesunds FK. Either their beaten opponents or Sandefjord Football will join them.
