Article body
Odra Wodzislaw relinquished top spot in the Polish first division following a humiliating 4-0-derby defeat to KS Górnik Zabrze.
Derby downfall
Odra went into their derby encounter with Górnik looking to extend their lead at the top of the table but ended the day in second place. Górnik's hero was Andrzej Niedzielan who scored a hat-trick to take the 23-year-old’s goal tally to nine for the season. Piotr Gierczak added a fourth goal with ten minutes of the game remaining.
Wisla take over
TS Wisla Krakow leapfrogged Odra into first position with a 4-1 win against KSZO Ostrowiec. Marcin Kuzba gave Wisla an early lead but KSZO equalised through Marek Sokolowski on the hour mark. Jacek Paszulewicz restored the advantage and Kuzba scored his second and his team’s third goal soon after. Maciej Zurawski rounded-off the victory in the last minute following an indirect free-kick.
Amica fight-back
Two early goals looked to have earned Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno maximum points against KS Amica Wronki, but the visitors fought back in the second half to earn a point in a 2-2 draw. Nigerian Abel Salami opened the scoring and Marek Kubisz doubled Garbarnia’s advantage in the 30th minute. Marek Zienczuk narrowed the gap on 65 minutes and then Jaroslaw Bienuk reacted to score from close range following a mistake by substitute goalkeeper Tomasz Rogala.
