Hermansson is Odd man in

Prolific marksman
The 29-year-old joined Hammarby in 2000 from IFK Göteborg and was a prolific marksman the following season as the Stockholm side won the championship. Despite an impressive strike ratio of 22 goals in 53 games, Hermansson was allowed to leave Hammarby for Odd, where he has signed a three-year contract.

'Wanted to stay'
Hermansson, though, was keen to remain at the Råsunda stadium and prove his worth in the 2003 campaign, saying: "Both me and the management wanted me to stay at Hammarby, but the board wanted otherwise. I don't know why but it might be due to my injuries."

'Nice atmosphere'
A number of clubs were tracking Hermansson, yet Odd was his preferred move as his "girlfriend is from Lysekil which is only two-and-a-half hours away". He added: "Odd seem to be a good side with a nice atmosphere and I hope to make a good impression."

Looking forward
Odd director Tom Helge Rönning said: "It's really great to have signed such a prolific striker and next year will no doubt be exciting." The departure of Hermansson means half of Hammarby's Allsvenskan-winning side have now left the club.

Elvis joins up
Better news for Hammarby coach Anders Linderoth is the signing of Brazilian winger Elvis da Silva Santana from third division Östersunds FK. Linderoth said the 19-year-old had impressed in training: "He's an excellent left winger and so we've moved to sign him for our first-team squad."

'Class act'
Capped by Brazil at Under-17 level, Elvis "will most likely be a class act in the Allsvenskan" according to Hans Eskilsson, the Östersunds coach and a former Hammarby player.
