APOEL Nicosia FC maintained their unbeaten record after drawing with title rivals Omonia Nicosia FC.

Reigning Cypriot first division champions APOEL Nicosia FC held on to first place and their unbeaten record after drawing 0-0 with local and title rivals Omonia Nicosia FC.

One-point gap
In front of a record capacity 23,043 crowd at the GSP stadium, both sides created decent scoring opportunities with APOEL's Demetris Daskalakis and Barnabas Sztipanovics both shooting wide of Stefan Brasas' goal in the first half and Omonia's Kostas Kaiafas and Rainer Rauffmann also going close. APOEL stretch their unbeaten run to 13 games, and remain a point ahead of Omonia.

Sosin the hero
There was no shortage of goals the following day at the GSP stadium as visitors Apollon Limassol FC staged a remarkable second-half rally to defeat title contenders Olympiakos Nicosia FC 3-2 after being 2-0 behind with 30 minutes left on the clock. Marios Themistocleous struck twice in the first half, but Polish striker Lukasz Sosin pulled one back, and then substitute Kakos Papakyriakou headed an equaliser. And with 15 minutes left, Sosin scored the winner from the penalty spot. Olympiakos head coach Nicos Andronicou announced his resignation at the press conference after the game, but gave no reason for his decision.

Moyo winner
AEP Paphos FC defeated Nea Salamis FC 2-1, Zimbabwean international Zenzo Moyo scoring the winner for the Paphos club in the final minute of the game. AEP took a deserved lead through Sasa Jovanovic's penalty early in the second half but Salamis were on level terms thanks to Andreas Kittos's header from close range ten minutes later. The game looked destined to finish in a draw until Moyo's late intervention.
