Article body
Former Italian international Sandro Cois is heading back to Serie A after agreeing a loan move to Piacenza FC from UC Sampdoria, a deal which will see Salvatore Miceli move in the other direction.
Third arrival this week
Piacenza are currently fourth from bottom in Serie A with 16 points, and Cois becomes the third player to join the club this week following the arrivals of Davide Baiocco and Marco Marchionni from Juventus FC and AC Parma respectively. The 31-year-old midfield player joined Sampdoria last summer after nine seasons with AC Fiorentina.
Miceli joins promotion fight
Micheli, a former SSC Napoli and Venezia AC player, will add his experience to Sampdoria's squad as they battle to return to Serie A after a five-year absence. The Genoa club - European Champion Clubs' Cup runners-up in 1992 - are currently second in Serie B, three points behind leaders Triestina Calcio.
Empoli arrival
Samp's city rivals Genoa 1893, meanwhile, have loaned forward Marco Carparelli to Serie A side Empoli FC until June. The 27-year-old, who has scored 46 goals over the last four seasons with Genoa, is the second forward to join Empoli this week after the arrival of Marco Borriello on loan from AC Milan.
