England forward Robbie Fowler's move from Leeds United AFC to Manchester City FC has collapsed.

Forward Robbie Fowler's proposed move to Manchester City FC is off, Leeds United AFC's official website has announced.

'I want to do my best'
"I had the opportunity to think things over," Fowler said. "I wanted to stay at Leeds United, I'm happy to do so. Now I want to do my best for the club."

'Not the deal for him'
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old's agent George Scott said: "He had time to reflect on the deal and realised it was not the deal for him, although he was flattered by [Manchester City manager] Kevin Keegan's interest."

Bid accepted
Leeds accepted a €10.5m bid for English international Fowler on Tuesday and the player had agreed personal terms with Manchester City. He underwent a medical yesterday before changing his mind about joining the Maine Road club.
